Why Dental Insurance?
Insurance- a contract or guarantee against loss by a contingent event. A contract whereby one party undertakes to reimburse another party against loss or damage. “Websters Dictionary”
An employer can offer dental insurance as something extra to compete in the job market or to have something to offer unions. It may not be insurance at all in that it may only pay for services you would normally plan on during the year. Many dental plans pay for preventive care but only token amounts for unexpected problems, tooth repairs or accidents. It is important to read dental insurance policies.
